The Rowan family

Ellen Rowan and Winifred Rowan (Ellen's sister) in 1900

The earliest photograph (above) we have is Ellen Rowan and her sister Winifred Rowan who sponsered Ellen's trip to America. What an extraordinary hat Aunt Winifred wore!

It all happened in Ireland...

Ongoing research will probably identify the county in Ireland where the Rowan family were settled. I recall my mom mentioning both a County Mayo and a County Corke. Can anyone provide help here?

About Ellen's parents.......John Rowan married Honor Lynski

Ellen Rowan's parents were Honor and John Rowan. Commentary by Joan Hayes: So it seems that Great Grandpappy may have been a rebel and married a non-Irish gal... Honor Lynski?
